Cadenas coloidales activas con movimiento de cilios y flagelos
Se ha demostrado que las cadenas autoensambladas de partículas coloidales activas pueden presentar oscilaciones sostenidas.
En este estudio demostramos que los sistemas simplificados, que constan solo de unas pocas partículas con interacción no recíproca y asimetría cabeza-cola, muestran el movimiento de batimiento y la autopropulsión. Ambas propiedades están presentes en muchos modelos que no están en equilibrio, por lo que nuestros resultados son una característica general de la materia activa.

Algoritmo eficiente para simular partículas brownianas en GPUs
En este artículo se desarrolla un algoritmo que permite simular computacionalmente millones de partículas microscópicas impenetrables. Usando herramientas geométricas avanzadas se logra que la simulación sea muy eficiente en unidades gráficas (GPU). En la imagen se ve el caso de una mezcla de partículas de oro y platino en una solución de agua oxigenada.
